New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind rejected the mercy petition of the convict Mukesh Singh in relation the 2012 Delhi gang-rape case.
The MHA had sent Singh’s mercy petition to Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday night and got rejected by the President.
Singh had informed the Delhi High Court about his pending mercy petition before the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and the President of India. He had asked to be given minimum of 14 days notice between the rejection of his mercy petition and scheduled date of execution.
The four convicts in the case will be hanged on January 22.
