New Delhi: The real face of anti-CAA protests at Shaheen Bagh came to light when the main organizer of the protests, Sharjeel Imam, called for separating the North East from the rest of India. The Assam government has taken notice of his inflammatory speech and has filed a case of sedition against him.
Sarjeel Imam said that if 5 lakh Muslims are organized then the North East could be cut from India. He was referring to the Siliguri corridor which connects North East with the rest of India. The region is also called ‘Chicken Neck’ and has a very strategic importance to India.
The 2017 stand off at Doklam between Indian security forces and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China took place because the PLA tried to gain control of this region.
Sarjeel Imam said, “Our responsibility is to cut the Assam from India as only then the government will hear our voice. If we have to help the Assam then we will have to cut the Assam from rest of India,”
Imam also spoke against the Constitution of India and asked his followers not to depend on it.
He said, “Indian Constitution is neither secular nor democratic, so don’t make it your pillar and if you do then there is no way out of it.”
