New Delhi: In his address to the nation on the eve of Republic Day, the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, asked the youth of the country to not forget Gandhiji’s gift of Ahimsa while fighting for a cause.
He said, “It should be part of our daily routine to introspect on Gandhiji’s message of truth and non-violence, which has become all the more necessary in our times.”
The President also spoke about Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s emphasis on constitutional methods for achieving social and economic objectives.
Ram Nath Kovind said that the government and the opposition should move in tandem while giving expression to their political ideas. His remarks becomes significant amid the opposition’s bid to create confusion in the nation under the guise of anti-CAA protests.
He said, “While giving expression to their political ideas, both must move forward in tandem to ensure that development of the country and welfare of its people are promoted consistently.”
