Jammu & Kashmir: Indian security forces have averted a major terror attack by Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) operatives today. The terrorists were planning an attack on Republic Day. The top leadership of terror outfits Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and JeM operating in the Kashmir valley has been eliminated as of now.
Chinar Corps Commander Lt. General K. J. S. Dhillon said, “A major (terror) incident being planned (by terrorists) for January 26 has been averted. Today morning we got information of some Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists who were planning to do some act of terrorism on January 26 in Tral. So, today morning an operation was launched which is still underway.”
The Commander added that the top leadership of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and the JeM has been eliminated from Kashmir Valley as of today.
He also thanked the Jammu and Kashmir police for passing the information about the location of the terrorists.
Yesterday the Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF and Rashtriya Rifles killed three terrorists including JeM’s chief in Kashmir, Qari Yasir. He was planning an IED attack in Srinagar.
