New Delhi: India has summoned senior Pakistani High Commissioner official and has lodged protests against the Islamic nation after a Hindu girl, Bharti, in Sindh province of Pakistan, was kidnapped, forced to convert into Islam and then married off to a Muslim man. Shockingly, the abductors took her away from her wedding place.
India asked that Pakistani government must ensure the safety and security of the Hindu community in Pakistan.
According to reports armed men had kidnapped the girl from her wedding venue. Some of the abductors were wearing police uniforms.
It is a sad tale for the minority Hindu community in Pakistan. They consist of only 2% of the total population in that Islamic country and has regularly come under attacks, kidnappings, forcible conversions and killings.
Interestingly, while Indian government made it possible for minority refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan to gain citizenship through CAA, the opposition in league with communal forces are protesting against the Act. Refugees from the minority communities had fled these countries after atrocities committed against them.
