Jammu & Kashmir: The security forces have revealed that the killed Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists had Improvised Explosive Device (IED) which they were planning to use against Indian forces. Moreover, they also possessed armour piercing ammunition.
The 3 terrorists who were gunned down in an encounter had IEDs with them and were planning to use it through a third person. The IEDs were found at a location in Jammu-Srinagar highway.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police also said that the JeM terrorists had armour piercing steel core ammunition which could penetrate bulletproof vehicles used by Indian security forces.
According to sources the terrorists were planning deadly attacks in several places given the amount of weapons and ammunitions recovered from them. They had US-made sniper rifle, six other rifles, five hand guns, 11 grenades, explosives and communication and GPS systems.
