New Delhi: The Supreme Court will hear a batch of petitions today on matters pertaining to restriction of women’s entry to Sabarimala temple along with other issues of discrimination of Muslim and Parsi women.
A nine-judge Constitution bench will consider issues related to Muslim women’s entry into mosques, female genital mutilation in the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community and barring of Parsi women, married to non-Parsi men, in the holy fireplace at an agiary.
Earlier on January 28, Chief Justice SA Bobde had said that the court will hear and examine the scope of judicial review pertaining to religious faith.
