New Delhi: Delhi High Court today observed that the death warrant of all the convicts must be executed together. The court has granted one week to the convicts to resort to all legal options against hanging. The trial court will complete the necessary procedures after a week and then all the four convicts of Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case, Vinay Sharma, Pawan Gupta, Mukesh Singh and Akshay Singh will be hanged together.
The trial court had issued black warrants for the execution of all the four convicts on January 7, stating that the convicts should be hanged on January 22, but it was delayed as one of the accused filed mercy petition. The execution was earlier scheduled to be held on February 1. The court postponed the execution again as the convicts were trying to hold the proceedings by using all loopholes.
