Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Minister for General Administration, Govind Singh, today apologized for not delivering on the promise of farm loan waiver given by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi before the Assembly election.
The minister said, “We couldn’t fulfill our leader Rahul Gandhi’s promise to waive off farmers’ loan up to ₹2 lakh within ten days of forming government in the state.”
Rahul Gandhi had promised to waive of farm loans up to Rs. 2 lakh within 10 days of forming government in the state. Interestingly, the Gandhi scion also said that the Chief Minister would be replaced if the farm loan waiver was not done in 10 days. However, Chief Minister, Kamal Nath is still in office and the poor farmers who voted for Congress find themselves duped by Rahul Gandhi.
The Madhya Pradesh government had only waived of loans worth Rs. 50,000 and their poll promises are yet to be fulfilled.
The minister’s admission of not fulfilling poll promises is another example of how Congress gives false promises to the people to win elections.
