New Delhi: Just before US President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit the country, India has expressed its desire to acquire Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) or drones from the United States. India possessing such technology could tilt the fight against terror in our favour.
A government source said, “We would be deeply interested in acquiring the technology used by the Americans to kill the Iranian military commander as the drone quietly sneaked in and launched its missile accurately to kill him.”
There are many in the government who believe that drone technology could be used to eliminate those men who are wanted by India and hiding in Pakistan or in other countries.
Leaders of terror outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammad’s Masood Azhar and Jamaat-ud-Dawah leader, Hafiz Saeed are currently living in Pakistan with full support of its government and the Military.
Sources say that talks about purchasing drones could go forward when the US President visits India this month.
