Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday participated at the closing ceremony of the Centenary Celebrations of Shri Jagadguru Vishwaradhya Gurukul.
At the event, PM Modi said that a country is formed by the ethos (Sanskara) of the people and not by the government.
“Country is not formed by the government but the ‘Sanskara’ of each and every citizen. The Sanskara of citizens make their commitment stronger,” said PM Modi.
“In our country, the concept of nation or Rashtra is made by ‘Sanskara’ and ‘Sanskriti’ (culture) and not by ‘Satta’ or who won and who lost,” he said.
“You are incorporating technology, making Sanskrit language and other Indian languages a medium of knowledge, that is also amazing. The government is also trying to expand all Indian languages, including Sanskrit, to benefit the younger generation,” PM Modi said.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Governor Anandiben Patel and others were also present at the event.
