Varanasi: The newly inaugurated Kashi-Mahakal Express, connecting three Jyotirlingas in two states, has a mini-temple installed in the seat number 64 of coach B5. The mini-temple is devoted to Lord Shiva.
The railway authorities are planning to reserve the seat for the Lord in the days ahead. Offering prayers at the mini-temple on auspicious days and occasion are also being considered.
The train was flagged off on Sunday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the Varanasi junction and will run regularly from February 20.
Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted, “Take a look at the newly inaugurated Kashi Mahakal Express, with its clean & hygienic pantry for providing high quality vegetarian food to passengers. Also, facilities such as bedrolls, houskeeping and travel insurance is going to make the journey convenient & pleasant for all.”
