New Delhi: Delhi Patiala Court has issued fresh death warrants against the convicts in the brutal rape and murder in the Nirbhaya case. All the four convicts are to be hanged on 3 March at 6 am. The order to issue death warrants was given by the Supreme Court while hearing the pleas by the State and Nirbhaya’s mother.
Nirbhaya’s mother, Asha Devi, said, “I am not very happy as this is the third time that the death warrant has been issued. We have struggled so much, so I am satisfied that the death warrant has been issued finally. ”
However, the counsel for the convicts say that all legal remedies will be used to demand justice for the four convicts. The convicts were to be hanged on 22 January but the execution was delayed when the convicts moved the court to seek mercy petitions.
As per the death warrant all the four convicts Akshay Thakur, Vinay Sharma, Pawan Gupta and Mukesh Singh will be put to death on 3 March at 6 am at Tihar Jail.
