New Delhi: The Supreme Court is not happy with the anti-CAA protesters at Shaheen Bagh for blocking the roads and protesting, though the court supported the right to protest. The apex court also appointed senior advocate Sanjay Hegde and Sadhana Ramachandranas to talk with the protesters at Shaheen Bagh.
The SC observed, “People have the right to protest against the law but the question is where to hold agitation… Democracy works on expressing views but there are lines and boundaries for it.”
Interestingly, the court has hinted that it will leave it to the authorities to deal with the protesters if no option will help stop the agitation. The court also said that the protests have been going on for a long time and they have made their point.
The apex court pulled up Shaheen Bagh protesters while hearing the petitions seeking to remove Shaheen Bagh protesters who were blocking the area that connects Delhi with Noida.
