Patna: Congress in spite of earning majority several times did not dare to abrogate Article 370 said BJP President JP Nadda on Saturday.
“Congress got a majority government several times. Jawaharlal Nehru and Mrs (Indira) Gandhi each got the majority twice. Rajiv Gandhi came to power with a majority once but they could not dare to abrogate Article 370,” Nadda said.
Nadda said that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government took the challenge and revoked the special status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
“People of Jammu and Kashmir are very happy after the abrogation of Article 370. You must have heard the speech made by Ladakh BJP MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal in the Parliament. He had said, ‘there is a difference between governing and ruling’,” Nadda said.
