New Delhi: Fake news have played a vital and dangerous role in the instigation and spread of violence in the violence in Delhi against Citizenship Amendment Act. The latest fake news that was designed to create confusion among the people was the transfer of the High Court judge, S. Muralidhar.

Justice Muralidhar had said that action must be taken against leaders for making hate speech. However, Congress leader and the media quickly twisted the facts and claimed that he was transferred because he ordered action against BJP leaders.

This fake narrative is now questioned after concrete evidence was provided. The fact of the matter is that the transfer of Justice Muralidhar and two more justices were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on 12 February itself.

According to the Supreme Court Collegium order, Justice Muralidhar is transferred to Haryana-Punjab High Court, Justice R. V. More of the Bombay High Court is transferred to the Meghalaya High Court and Justice Ravi Malimath of Karnataka High Court is transferred to Uttarakhand.

The Union Law Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, also came out saying that the transfer of Justice Muralidhar was done as per the wish of the Justice himself and there is no scope of any controversy in the issue.
