New Delhi: The Delhi court on Monday had stayed for the third time the execution of the four convicts of the Nirbhaya case, observing that a mercy petition still existed with the President.
In its development, President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday rejected the mercy petition of Pawan Gupta, one of the four death row convicts.
Meanwhile, Pawan Gupta’s curative petition seeking commutation of his death sentence to life imprisonment was also dismissed by the Supreme Court on Monday.
Earlier, President had rejected other convicts’ mercy petition.
