New Delhi: Suspended AAP councillor and the main accused in IB officer Ankit Sharma’s brutal murder, Tahir Hussain, hid in Zakir Nagar of Okhla Constituency of Amanatulla Khan, the Delhi Crime Branch on Friday revealed.
Hussain was arrested on Thursday soon after Delhi’s Karkardooma Court dismissed surrender application.
Hussain went absconding for two days after he left the riot-hit Mustafabad area on February 27. Then from Zakir Nagar he was using his alternative cell number, the sources added.
While police were searching for him at Zakir Nagar and Tajpur area in Amroha, he managed to escape from their sight.
According to the sources, around half a dozen suspects who were seen doing arson with him have been identified, which also includes his stepbrother Shah Alam. Mobile phones belonging to Hussain have not been recovered so far.
