New Delhi: The Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanad Rai, said in Rajya Sabha today that the Assam government has made arrangements to provide legal aid for those excluded from the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
Nityanad Rai said, “The state government in Assam has made necessary arrangements to provide legal aid to the needy people amongst those excluded from final NRC, Assam by providing all assistance through the District Legal Services Authorities.”
Rai’s reply in the Rajya Sabha comes after Jose K. Mani, a MP from Kerala, asked whether the government has taken any measures to give free legal aid for those excluded from NRC.
