New Delhi: In a relief to students facing anxiety over writing exams when the country is facing spread of COVID-19, the Human Resource Department has postponed all board exams that were scheduled for the next ten days.
The order extends to universities, educational institutions and educational boards that are under the HRD Ministry and all central universities, which includes CBSE and NIOS. Entrance examinations such as JEE Main 2020 has also been postponed.
The exams will be re-scheduled after 31 March after the situation is reassessed by the ministry.
HRD secretary Amit Khare said, “While maintenance of academic calendar and exam schedule is important, equally important is safety and security of students who are appearing in various examinations as also of their teachers and parents.”
He added, “All the ongoing examinations, including CBSE board exams, be postponed till March 31 and rescheduled thereafter.”
