New Delhi: All four convicts in the Nirbhaya case have exhausted all their legal remedies to escape the death penalty for the brutal rape and murder of a 23 year old woman in a moving bus in Delhi in 2012.
Today the Supreme Court rejected the pleas of Akshay Thakur and Mukesh Singh and refused any delay in executing them. The court also dismissed the defence lawyer’s suggestion that the convicts will serve the country at the Indo-Pak or Indo-China border.
The court also dismissed convict Mukesh Singh’s demand that certain documents were withheld by the Delhi police, that could prove that he was not in Delhi when the crime occurred.
Pawan Gupta’s plea that he was a juvenile at the time of the crime was also rejected by the Supreme Court.
With this all the four convicts of the Nirbhaya case will face the hangman tomorrow at 5.30 am. They will be executed at the Tihar jail.
