Bhopal: Kamal Nath resigned as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh without facing the floor test, which was scheduled today. His resignation ended the political drama in the state and brought the curtain down on the Congress government.
Kamal Nath tendered his resignation to the governor of Madhya Pradesh after he could not muster up enough MLAs to win the floor test. 22 MLAs from Congress had resigned earlier in support of their leader Jyotiraditya Scindia who gave up his primary membership from the Congress and joined the BJP.
Jyotiraditya Scindia said, “People have won today in Madhya Pradesh. I have always believed that politics should be the medium of public service, but the state government had deviated from this path. Truth has won again. Satyameva Jayate.”
After Kamal Nath’s resignation BJP leaders Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Gopal Bhargva and other leaders gave sweets to celebrate the occasion.
