New Delhi: After Indian Army successfully neutralized terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen’s chief Riyaz Naikoo, Saifullah Mir, aka Ghazi Haider has been appointed as the new leader of the outfit.

The new face is a class 12 pass out unlike his predecessor Riyaz Naikoo who had completed his graduation. He went for vocational training after school.

Mir has been on the radar of the security agencies in the valley ever since his name appeared as Dr Saifullah alias Dr Saif in the list of terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, prepared by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in 2017. He completed his bio medical course at the ITI in Pulwama and acquired a job at Srinagar’s National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology as a technician, according to security officials.

He worked for three years before getting accompanied with Riyaz Naikoo who led him the way to join terror.
Zafarul Islam will be the deputy chief operational commander in Jammu and Kashmir and another terrorist, Abu Tariq Bhai, as his chief military adviser.
