New Delhi: An increase of 3,967 coronavirus cases were reported in the last 24 hours taking India’s tally to 81,970 cases, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday.
The latest figures indicates 51,401 active cases while 27,919 patients have been cured/ discharged and one patient has been migrated.
With a rise in 100 deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the death toll in the country now stands at 2,649.
Maharashtra has recorded the most number of cases and is the worst-hit state in the country. As of now there are 27,524 cases with a death toll of 1,019.
Tamil Nadu has surpassed Gujarat with a tally of 9,674 cases and 66 fatalities.
Gujarat has recorded a total of 9,591 cases while 586 succumbed to the virus.
