New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed his grief over the untimely death of young Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
PM Modi said that his rise in the world of entertainment inspired many and the actor has left behind several memorable performances.
“Sushant Singh Rajput…a bright young actor gone too soon. He excelled on TV and in films. His rise in the world of entertainment inspired many and he leaves behind several memorable performances. Shocked by his passing away. My thoughts are with his family and fans. Om Shanti,” he tweeted.

The ‘M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story’ actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide on Sunday at his Bandra home in Mumbai. He was 34.
According to latest reports, police have found no suicide note in the house. When in the morning he did not open the door, his friends broke the door and found him hanging by the fan.
The actor’s body has been taken to the hospital for postmortem. The police have found some medical prescriptions and medicines that he was consuming for the last six months.
He is survived by his father and four elder sisters.
He earned fame with the TV show Pavitra Rishtra on Zee TV, produced by Ekta Kapoor. After earning popularity with his role, he made his debut with Kai Po Che, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, an official adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s Three Mistakes of My Life.
He went on to feature in Yash Raj Films’ Shuddh Desi Romance. His career’s hit came with MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, in the role of the former Indian cricket captain.
The actor also featured in Kedarnath, in the debut of Sara Ali Khan, which was also turned out to be a success.
Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore in 2019 was among the biggest hits of his career.
