“No party should engage in any action that may escalate situation,” says China after PM Modi’s visit to Ladakh

New Delhi: Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a surprise visit to Ladakh on Friday to review the border situation, China said that negotiations are on between both the countries to “lower the temperatures” and “no party should engage in any action that may escalate the situation”.

“India and China are in communication and negotiations on lowering the temperatures through military & diplomatic channels. No party should engage in any action that may escalate the situation at this point,” Zhao Lijian, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson on PM Modi’s Ladakh visit.

PM Modi’s surprise visit has given a boost to the Army’s morale amid the tensions on the Line of Actual Control. He interacted with personnel of the Army, Air Force and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) at Nimoo.
