New Delhi: Japan on Friday backed India and said that the country opposes any attempts to change the status quo on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), indirectly referring to China.
New Delhi has briefed Tokyo regarding the situation on LAC following the violent clash between Indian and Chinese troops last month.
“Had a good talk with FS (Harsh Vardhan) Shringla. Appreciated his briefing on the situation along LAC, including GOI’s policy to pursue peaceful resolution. Japan also hopes for peaceful resolution through dialogues. Japan opposes any unilateral attempts to change the status quo,” tweeted Japanese envoy Satoshi Suzuki.
