Lucknow: In a massive stringent action against gangsters and criminals, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led government has slapped charges against 88 criminals under the National Security Act (NSA) in the past one week.
Uttar Pradesh’s additional chief secretary Awanish Awasthi on Tuesday said the NSA has been invoked against 88 people in 67 cases in the past one week.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) shot down a close aide Amar Dubey of gangster Vikas Dubey. Vikas Dubey and his gang last week killed eight policemen when they opened fire at the police personnel who had come to detain him.
Vikas Dubey currently is on the run and bounty on him has been increased to 2.5 lakh.
This year, in Uttar Pradesh, NSA has been slapped in 120 cases of which 63 were related to cow slaughter, 3 crimes against women and 13 other heinous crimes.
