Mumbai: Amid the raising questions on gangster Vikas Dubey encounter, Shiv Sena has come forward in support of the Uttar Pardesh Police. In its mouthpiece ‘Saamna’, the party has hit out at those demanding probe in the encounter.
Shiv Sena has said that those questioning the encounter must meet the families of the martyred Policemen. Eight police personnel had lost their lives when Vikas Dubey indiscriminately opened fire at them. The police team had reached his hideout on July 2 to arrest him.
Shiv Sena has slammed the Opposition asking them not to demoralise the police in order to practice their right to raise the voice. This statement is in contradiction with that of the Congress party, which happens to be Shiv Sena’s ally in Maharashtra.
The Congress had demanded a probe by a sitting judge and has alleged that UP’s Yogi government has staged the encounter to ‘ hide their secrets’.
Sena said that there is no point in lamenting over the death of the gangster adding that even if the encounter was staged, the fact is he was a criminal and now he is no more. Shiv Sena also slammed the Human Rights group saying that Vikas Dubey was not a social activist or a great leader.
