Kashmir: Former Union minister Manoj Sinha on Friday sworn in as the new lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir, the first political leader to take charge of the union territory.
Sinha has succeeded Girish Chandra Murmu who has now been appointed as the new Comptroller & Auditor General of India (CAG).
“Kashmir is heaven of India, I’ve been given an opportunity to play a role here. 5th Aug is an important date, after yrs of isolation J&K came to mainstream. Several projects started here after yrs, my priority is to take those projects forward,” he said.
