Today is a crucial day for millions of devotees as Supreme court considers all the pleas including four writ pleas and 49 review petitions on Sabarimala woman entry. Writ petitions will be taken in the morning in the open court by a three member bench chaired by Justice Ranjan Gogoi and review pleas, at 3 pm in Chief Justice’s chamber.
The three member bench includes Justice Sajjay Kishan Kaul and K M Joseph.
Five sangh parivar organisations including Kshethra samrakshana samithy, NSS, Thanthri and other individuals have filed review pleas.These pleas will be considered in Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi’s chamber. No media persons and advocates are allowed in the chamber.
Today, when all the writ and review pleas are taken into consideration, the Judges may decide to cancel all pleas and maintain the verdict produced on September 28th by the Supreme court.Or it may be decided to hear all pleas in an open court with adding more members in the bench. It is very rare to accept all review petitions, says experts.
