Lucknow: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday took over the investigation of the alleged gangrape case of a 19-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras. The Central Government gave a nod to CBI to take over the probe.
After the registration of the FIR, the probe teams will head to the crime scene along with forensic experts.
The Yogi Adityanath government had, earlier, recommended a CBI probe into the Hathras case. A letter was also sent in this regard to the central government.
