Deoria: A woman party worker of the Congress was assaulted at an event in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria on Saturday. The Congress party workers thrashed Tara Yadav when she questioned for giving party ticket for upcoming by-polls to someone charged with rape.
“I was thrashed by party workers when I questioned party’s decision to give a ticket to a rapist, Mukund Bhaskar for upcoming by-polls. Now, I’m waiting for Priyanka Gandhi ji to take action,” Tara told ANI.
This shows the double standard of the Congress party who one side is fighting for the victim in Hathras incident and on the other giving party ticket to a person charged with rape. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had been doing a big drama over the case.
“On one hand, our party leaders are fighting for justice for Hathras Case victim, and on the other hand, party ticket is being given to a rapist. It is a wrong decision. It will malign the image of our party,” she added.

National Commission for Women chairman Rekha Sharma assured to take cognizance of the matter and tweeted, “How all these sick minded people come in politics..?? Will be taking cognizance.”

Several BJP leaders have condemned the manhandling of Tara Yadav and have said that the incident has exposed that their no respect for women in Congress party.
