New Delhi: Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan on Friday lashed out at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vjayan in connection with the gold smuggling case. He was addressing the media about the case from BJP national headquarters in New Delhi with party’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra.
Muraleedharan alleged that the high profile people involved in the case will not end with CM’s former Principal Secretary M Sivasankar. He said that Pinarayi Vijayan has lost the moral right to remain in the chair of Chief Minister and demanded his resignation.
He said that the state government had demanded an agency probe, but it did not specify any agency. The contradiction is that they are opposing the CBI probe now.
According to the charge sheet submitted by Enforcement Directorate at the court, many influential persons in the government are involved in the case, he added.
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra alleged that the possible links of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s name in the gold smuggling case proves that it was an attempt to fund terror in India.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had uncovered a major fact that the gold smuggling case had links between one of the accused and India’s most wanted underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and his gang.
