Srinagar: A Jammu and Kashmir police officer was shot dead by terrorists in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday evening.
Inspector Mohammad Ashraf came under the attack of the terrorists and was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
According to locals, the Inspector was on his way back to home after offering prayers when terrorists opened fire at him.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned the killing of the Inspector and said, “Our police force will remain firm against such acts of terror & perpetrators will be brought to justice.”
