New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered that States and Union Territories can take a decision on the opening of Anganwadi’s across the country by 31 January except those located in containment zones.
The order was by a bench headed Justice Ashok Bhushan. The court also directed the States and UT’s to ensure that nutritional standards reach pregnant women, children and lactating mothers.
The order came on the plea filed by Maharashtra based Dipika Jagatram Sahani seeking direction relating to forthwith reopening of all Anganwadi centres in the country which were closed amid the Covid 19 pandemic.
