Pune [Maharashtra]: The Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla took down to Twitter to reassure the governments and the people that there would be no loss of Covishield production due to the fire that broke out at the Serum Institute of India Terminal 1 gate.
The CEO said that he had kept in reserve to deal with any such contingencies at the production plant. The fire broke out at the Serum Institute where the production of Cvid 19 vaccine- Covishield is being carried out, at around 4 pm today.
“I would like to reassure all governments & the public that there would be no loss of COVISHIELD production due to multiple production buildings that I had kept in reserve to deal with such contingencies at SerumInstIndia. Thank you very much PuneCityPolice & Fire Department”, tweeted Poonawalla.
The Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray informed the press that the fire is under control and there has been no causalities so far.
