Pune [Maharashtra]: Five reported dead in the fire that broke out in the Serum Institute of India building.
According to a fire official five charred bodies were recovered from Serum Institute of India building where fire broke out in afternoon.
The under construction building in the Terminal 1 gate of the serum Institute where the Covishield vaccines are being manufactured caught fire at the noon. As many as 10 fire extinguishing units rushed to the spot immediately to douse the fire.
The efforts to douse the fire are still underway. The SII CEO Adar Poonawalla informed that the vaccine production will not be affected by the fire.
Details of the deceased parties are yet to be traced out.
