Kolkata [West Bengal]: Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s grandnephew C K Bose on Sunday slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for not delivering speech at the Parakram Divas event at Victoria. He said that she should not have reacted to “Jai sreeram” slogans in an allergic manner.
In a statement given to ANI, CK Bose said that Mamata should have reacted in a different manner. “Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose stood for unity. He had people of all communities in Azad Hind Fauj. Whether you say ‘Jai Hind’ or ‘Jai Shri Ram’, I don’t find any difference. Jai Shri Ram is not a slogan to which one should react in an allergic manner”, he said.
“I think the CM need not have reacted adversely to a slogan whether it is ‘Jai Hind’ or ‘Jai Shri Ram’. This is not the day to do any politics. It is a day to celebrate, it is a day to pay homage to the soldiers and martyrs of the Indian National Army” said C K Bose.
The West Bengal Chief Minister had refused to speak at the event on Parakram Divas as people raised Ji Shri Ram slogans before her speech. Mamata’s act is being widely criticised by the people and the leaders. Telengana BJP leader NV Subhash had earlier criticised Mamata saying a leader should know how to restraint in some situations, especially when you are at a public gathering.
