Impact of Tauktae cyclone, which hit the western coastal region of the country on Monday-Tuesday, has also been seen in Uttar Pradesh since Tuesday night following wide spread rainfalls along with thunderstorm.
Rains lashed many parts of the state on Wednesday, disrupting train and road services amid ongoing Corona-induced curfew in UP. In Lucknow, It is been raining since Wednesday morning.
State Meteorological Department has predicted wide spread rains in the entire state on Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the department, heavy rain is expected on Wednesday in areas around Mahoba, Hamirpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Kaushambi and Prayagraj. Also, dust storms may occur at a speed of 40 to 50 km in Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Bijnor, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur and Amroha. Thunder showers are also expected in these areas.
On Thursday, heavy rains are expected in Moradabad, Rampur, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Gonda, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Santakbirnagar, Barabanki, Ambedkaranagar, Ayodhya and surrounding areas. At the same time, heavy rains may occur in Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor and surrounding areas with strong winds.
