Agartala: Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned 1.60 lakh houses for Tripura under Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAY-G) revised guideline, Deputy Chief Minister holding the charge of Finance and Rural Development Jishnu Dev Varma said here today.
He said the government of India has revised the definition of the kutchha house on the request of the state and the families living in houses with katchha wall and GCI sheet roof were eligible for benefit under PMAY-G.
Due to the revision in the definition, the state has been allocated a target of 1.60 lakh houses under the scheme during 2021-22 with a financial involvement of Rs 2079 Cr in the last five years. The cumulative target under the scheme was 53,827 houses involving Rs 699 Cr and the households will also get the benefit of 95 person-days under MGNREGA, he added.
