A month after being sacked from the Health Minister post over the assigned lands encroachments row, Mr Etela Rajender , a close aide of Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao, on Friday announced his resignation to TRS party and also from MLA post, contested from Huzurabad Constituency in Telangana.

Mr Rajender, who went to New Delhi on a three-day visit and returned to the city on Thursday after meeting top BJP National leaders, announced his resignation at a press conference held in his Shamirpet residence on the outskirts of the city.

His resignation from TRS cleared the decks for joining the saffron party.

Though the date of joining the BJP has not yet been finalized, it is tentatively scheduled on June 8, or later, according to sources close to the former Minister.

Explaining the reasons for his exit from the pink party, Mr Etela said that he will announce his future course of political strategy after discussing with the people of Huzurabad who supported him for 19 years.

He said that the ‘Chief Minister should remember that human values are prominent and added that he is ready to die but not ready if anyone hurts his self-respect.’

He has been victimized by Mr Chandrashekar Rao, Mr Rajender alleged and said he had been sacked from the Ministry overnight and not sought any clarification.
