Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP member of Rajya Sabha Sushil Kumar Modi on Friday said that the Centre has decided to make advance payment of Rs 1500 Crores to Hyderabad based Company Biological for production of 30 cr vaccine doses of coronavirus.

The deputy CM tweeted that the centre would pay Rs 1500 Crores in advance to Hyderabad based company Biological e for production of 30 Crores doses of Corona vaccines. There would not be any shortage of vaccines in the country, he noted.

BJP leader said that trial of vaccines by Biological e was still in third phase and decision of the Centre to make advance payment, was an indication of faith reposed by government in Indian company. It was all the more important that permission had still not been granted to Biological e for emergency use of vaccines but government was confident of better results of the vaccines of the company in days ahead, he added.

PM Modi said that Congress was earlier questioning the government why advance payment was not made to company for production of sufficient doses of vaccines but the the party had raised question now over decision of the Centre to make advance payment to Biological e for production of 30 Crores doses of vaccines. The behaviour of the Congress was ridiculous and the party had made itself a laughing stock, he remarked.

BJP leader said that plants were being set up in various parts of the country for production of 15000 metric tonnes of Medical oxygen. In first wave , total requirement of Oxygen was 3,100 metric tonnes while in second wave the demand was for 9000 metric tonnes of Oxygen, he said and added that for the first time, Oxygen express was introduced by the Railways to cater to the needs of Oxygen in several parts of the country during second wave of Corona pandemic.
