Goa Government on Saturday announced extension of state wide curfew till June 14, 2021, to contain Covid 19 pandemic.
In a tweet, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, ‘Our Government has decided to extend the State Level Curfew till 7 AM, 14 June 2021. Timings for essential shops as defined will be increased to 7 AM to 3 PM.’
He said shops or stores related to house or building repairs, monsoon preparedness, or rain protection and stationary items would be allowed to open.
In view of second wave of Covid 19 pandemic, initially the curfew was imposed on May 9 to May 24, 2021, later it was extended till May 31, 2021 and again extended till June 7, 2021.
Till date there have been 1,58,990 cases of Covid 19 while 2,744 people have lost their life due to the infection.
