The Telangana Government on Tuesday evening extended the lockdown for 10-more days from June 10.
However, in slight relief, the lockdown relaxation hours have been increased by 4-hours from 0600 hrs to 1700 hrs and given an one-hour grace period till 1800 hrs for people to reach home as COVID-19 cases were showing the downward trend in the state.
The ongoing lockdown in the state was up to June 9 with a relaxation window between 0600 hrs to 1300 hrs, with an hour’s grace period for them to get back to their homes by 1400 hrs.
In Tuesday’s lengthy cabinet meeting, it was decided to enforce a strict lockdown from 1800 hrs to 0600 hrs.
As the COVID-19 situation is still not under control in Satthupalli, Madhira, Nalgonda, Nagarjuna Sagar, Munugode, Devarakonda, Miryalguda Assembly segments, the Cabinet decided to extend the existing lockdown without any changes.
The Cabinet also decided to sanction 4,46,169 pending ration card applications and instructed the officials concerned to issue the ration cards within 15 days.
On Tuesday, Telangana recorded 1,897 new cases of COVID-19 and 15 deaths. The active cases in the state are 24,306.
