Getting ready for a possible third wave, Uttar Pradesh government has started building up the infrastructure as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that nine medical colleges could start functioning from this year and construction work is under process in 14 other medical colleges.
“Nine medical colleges could start this year. Of these, the construction work of 7 is almost complete. Principal has been appointed in all the 9 medical colleges,” CM said during the covid-19 meeting held through video conferencing here on Thursday.
He said the appointment of about 50 percent teachers has also been completed in these medical colleges and once these start functioning it will boost the medical infrastructure in that region.
During the meeting the officers also apprised the Chief Minister about the progress in setting up 14 other medical colleges in the state. Construction work of 13 medical colleges has started. The Chief Minister directed that necessary arrangements should be made to start the work of education in these medical colleges in time.
