Former union minister Jitin Prasada, who has recently joined the BJP leaving Congress, on Saturday reached Lucknow and met the ruling party leaders and chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
Mr Prasada, whose family has a hold on Shahjahanpur and Lakhimpur Kheri region of the state, was given a warm welcome at the state party headquarters on his first visit.
After meeting the CM, Jitin Prasada said,”Under the able guidance of Yogi Adityanath, I will work to reach out to the people of all the schemes which are going on in the state”.
He said BJP is the only national party left in the country.
Earlier at a press conference along with state president Swantra Deo Singh, Mr Prasada said it is big political chance for him to join the BJP and assure everyone that he will dedicate to take the ideologies of the party to the last person in the society.
“I will never forget the love and respect I got from BJP,” he added.
Welcoming Jitin Prasada, state BJP president Swantra Deo Singh said,”Jitin Prasad is noble and honest politician. His joining will strengthen the party.”
Mr Singh further said that Jitin Prasada will be given respectable post in the party.
