Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid homage to Jagannathrao Joshi , a senior leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and Bharatiya Janata Party, on his 101st birth anniversary.
Taking to twitter, he said, ‘I pay homage to Shri Jagannathrao Joshi Ji on his 101st birth anniversary. Jagannathrao Ji was a remarkable organiser and tirelessly worked among people. His role in strengthening the Jana Sangh and BJP is widely known. He was also an outstanding scholar and intellectual.’
Born in Nargund, Karnataka on June 23, 1920, Joshi actively participated in the Goa Liberation Movement. His contribution to building the BJS and BJP in Karnataka earned him the title “Karnataka Kesari” (Lion of Karnataka).
