Birmingham: PV Sindhu won her maiden gold medal in Commonwealth games 2022 over Canada’s Michelle Li in the finals today. Sindhu proudly presented her medal without losing the nation’s hope on her performance. She defeated Michelle Li with a score of 21-15, 21-13. With this, this is Sindhu’s fifth medal in the Commonwealth games.
Sindhu, who received silver in the last Commonwealth Games held at Gold Coast, responded by winning gold this time.
She won bronze in 2014, silver in 2018 and for the first time won gold in CWG 2022 and raised the pride of the nation.
India has risen into the 4th position by achieving 19 gold medals. The total number of medals obtained by the nation is 48.
