Imphal: A report said that ahead of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah’s visit to the violence-hit state of Manipur, the security forces have seized weapons from three militants including Chinese-made weapons.
The security forces apprehended the militants after getting information that four persons were travelling suspiciously in a car near the Imphal City Convention Center area. When the car was stopped for inspection, the militants tried to escape. Three of the suspected militants were caught by the security forces.
Chinese hand grenades and detonators were seized from the arrested militants. Insas rifles were also captured from them.
Chief of Army Staff, Manoj Pandey, had visited Manipur on Saturday and took stock of the situation. Five persons including police officers have been killed in an attack on Sunday. It is reported that forty militants have been neutralized in the fight between Manipur Police Commandoes and Kuki Tribals.
